Chenab River Railway Bridge: Highest Railway Bridge In The World
Chenab River Railway Bridge($92m) expected to complete by 2019 would be connecting the crucial Katra-Banihal section of the Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Line (USBRL) project. Once completed it will be the highest railway bridge in the world, over river Chenab. It will be 359 metres above the river bed and 1.3 km long in Katra, Jammu-Kashmir. The main arch was launched by the Indian railways on 7th of November 2017. With about 70 per cent of the work completed, over 1,200 workers and 300 engineers are working round-the-clock to meet the project's completion deadline in 2019.
