Bogibeel Bridge Set To Be Inaugurated In June 2018
The Bogibeel Bridge is a Railway Project in Arunachal Pradesh. The Bogibeel Bridge will connect Dibrugarh on the south bank of the river with Dhemaji on the north bank and it will be a double-decked bridge featuring two railway lines on the lower deck and a three-lane road on the upper deck, flanked by footpaths on either side. The upper deck will be 10.5m above the lower deck. The bridge, which is the fourth over the Brahmaputra, will facilitate easy connectivity between eastern Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and benefit nearly five million people. Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani has said the Bogibeel Bridgeis set to be inaugurated in June2018. The 4.94 km bridge will facilitate connectivity between north and south banks of the Brahmaputra in the eastern region of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. "Because of less disruption to its construction work the Northeast Frontier Railway's spending will also be less. So hoping to end this year at Rs 5500 crore against 7100 crore last year.
