Hindalco Invests ` 3,600 Cr. in Aluminium Extrusion and Recycling Plants

India’s largest aluminium extrusion and recycling plant will come up in Gujarat, informed the Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani following an agreement was signed by the government with the Aditya Birla Group major, Hindalco Industries Ltd. in Gandhinagar recently. Two memorandums of understanding (MoU) entailing a total investment of ` 3,600 crore, including ` 2,100 crore for the extrusion plant and ` 1,500 crore for the recycling plant in Kutch were signed by Hindalco officials led by Managing Director Satish Pai and and State government officials led by Manoj Das, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, in the presence of Raupani. The company will develop the projects in phased manner, a State government statement said here. The extrusion plant will have a capacity of 137,000 tonnes, and the recycling plant will be set up with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes per annum.
