Mr. Pradeep Sharma, President, ACE shares his views with CE&CR as the company gears up for EXCON 2019 from
10th - 14th Dec, 2019 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru
Mr. Pradeep Sharma
Action Construction Equipment Ltd.
Civil Engineering and Construction Review: What is your expectation from EXCON’19?
Pradeep Sharma: EXCON is one of the most sought after events of the Construction Equipment (CE) industry. It provides us the perfect opportunity to showcase our entire product range and conduct new product launches, besides being the right podium for interacting with all our important and target customers under one roof. Our expert team is deployed for three consecutive days to cater all the customer queries, both at domestic and international level.
CE&CR: What are your plans for the show? What will be your focus of display?
Pradeep Sharma: ACE has always been one of the major exhibitors at the much-coveted EXCON 2019. It will be a very special year for us as we gear up to showcase our latest product range- Rotary Piling Rigs, innovative and intelligent next-generation NX-series cranes including NX360° Full slew cum Pick ‘N’ Carry (20T) crane, NXT 150 Pick ‘N’ Carry crane combined with a Telehandler and NXP 150 Pick ‘N’ Carry crane cum aerial work platform (AWP) hydraulically operated from the top, and the newly introduced higher capacity Truck Mounted cranes TM 450 and TM 550. Additionally, our other equipment range including backhoe loaders, motor graders, tower cranes, tandem rollers, and soil compactors will also have a prominent presence at EXCON 2019.
CE&CR: How effective has EXCON been as a platform for helping Construction Equipment manufacturers meet the challenges facing them? How has the show helped the industry players identify new opportunities and make the best use of them?
Pradeep Sharma: EXCON is the perfect podium offering ample opportunities to meet top brass of industry, decision makers, influencers and bureaucrats under one roof for discussing industry challenges and finding solutions focused on growth and development of the industry. Further, it offers a perfect platform for learning the latest technologies introduced by our competitors and upgrading our product range for enhanced productivity and safety. Also, we get to meet the top executives of major EPC companies and Government Ministries, which in turn helps us to identify the upcoming opportunities and projects.
CE&CR: In this age of tough competition, what is your recent point of focus?
Pradeep Sharma: As ACE completes 25 years of Engineering Excellence in January 2020, we embark on a journey towards weaving the ACE Growth Story 2.0 through a consistent focus on introducing high-quality innovative products and excellent customer service. Moving forward, we continue to reinforce our presence in all the product segments with higher customer engagement and technological innovations.
CE&CR: Where do you see the construction equipment market in the next five years?
Pradeep Sharma: Even though the CE industry is witnessing downturn from the past few months, I believe it will only move forward in upward trajectory in long-term. The Indian construction equipment sector is undergoing sweeping changes; it’s witnessing higher demand amid the government’s resolve to build world-class infrastructure as well as the digitalization of manufacturing processes for rolling out technically advanced equipment. The future thus looks promising as the country is undergoing development and upgradation of urban infrastructure. Also, the bullet train project, elevated roads and rail networks being developed to the advanced level and increasing focus on pre-cast structures for enhancing the execution speed of projects, will together play a stellar role in increasing the demand for construction equipments such as mobile cranes, tower cranes, backhoe loaders and piling rigs.
Also, the emerging growth areas in terms of leasing and rental of equipment, exports and increasing deployment of refurbished equipment integrated with timely service to the customers will add impetus to the growth of construction equipment industry in India.
CE&CR: What special services do you offer to retain existing customers?
Pradeep Sharma: Since its inception in 1995, ACE has become the No. 1 crane brand of India and continues to retain its position through consistent focus on excellent customer service and innovative product offerings. ACE has a customer-centric approach wherein, customized solutions are offered to cater specific customer requirements. We take regular feedback from our customers on performance and productivity of our equipment. Based on the feedback, we inculcate the improvisations in our products through our DSIR approved R&D department of ACE.
In addition, the post-sales support in terms of service and training infrastructure, ensuring the availability of spare parts and widening the distribution network for better customer service will act as a catalyst in our growth.
