Indian Experts Interested In Fiji Partners

Indian Construction Equipment Records 24% Growth in FY18

Schwing Stetter, one of India's leading concrete pumping companies has shown interest in partnering with Fiji by providing world class concreting equipment. The company was part of the inaugural Best of India's Show at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva. The Indian Construction Equipment industry grew despite the hiccups of emission and GST during April and July 2017, respectively. Demonetisation also had a negligible effect on the industry growth.

Tata Steel Celebrates its 100 Years in the Netherlands

Ultratech to Acquire Century Cement Business

India's multinaonal steel-manufacturer, Tata Steel celebrated the 100th anniversary of its operations in the Netherlands. The Netherlands' King Willem-Alexander joined the representatives. Aditya Birla Group firm UltraTech has received an approval from the fair trade regulator Compeon Commission for the acquision of the cement business of Century Textiles and Industries. The company said the CCI has given its approval for the share swap deal.

Numerical Modelling Of An Underground Powerhouse

This arcle presents the findings of a numerical modelling project of an underground powerhouse cavern. 3D stress analysis of large caverns has always been a challenging design problem. The engineers have struggled to effecvely understand and predict the response of rock mass when subjected to underground excavtiaon. Several methods have been established and used to analyze such problems like physical modelling, closed form solutions, empirical charts and most recent numerical modelling methods.
