CE&CR Awards is a humble effort by one of the leading construction journals to honour the outstanding efforts of the construction professionals of India who have kept the flag flying high of the Indian construction and infrastructure sector. Judged by a board of luminaries from the construction and infrastructure vertical, this is a due recognition by an esteemed journal that has been in the forefront of the construction and infrastructure space for the last 37 years keeping the professionals updated with the latest news and technology upgradation.

This seminar, titled “Modern Trends in Construction Technology,” embraced innovation and aimed to build a better tomorrow by exploring the latest advancements, strategies, and breakthroughs that reshaped the landscape of construction technology.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, the construction sector witnessed a paradigm shift driven by technological innovation. From digitalization and automation to sustainable practices and resilient design, the seminar delved deep into the transformative trends shaping the future of construction. A wide variety of modern construction technologies were developed with thorough planning and design to reduce construction time, cost, and maintain overall sustainability. Embracing a creative outlook and creating with minimal impact on the environment was the key takeaway.

**About Shri. S. P. Singla, CMD, S. P. Singla Constructions Pvt. Ltd.**
Shri S. P. Singla is the Managing Director of S. P. Singla Constructions Pvt. Ltd. Born in 1959 in Amargarh, Punjab, Shri Singla completed his schooling in Amargarh and Dirba towns of Punjab before graduating in Civil Engineering from Punjab University in 1983.
He began his career as a construction engineer with M/s J. C. Gupta & Company from 1983 to 1992, working on several bridge projects in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. His dedication and interest in his work was evident from the beginning.
Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Shri Singla founded his own company, S. P. Singla Engineers & Contractors, in 1992. In 1996, he established S. P. Singla Constructions Pvt. Ltd. The company initially focused on the construction of small bridges primarily in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. With a passion for bridge construction, Shri Singla has been deeply involved in all aspects of his projects, including design, procurement, finance and state-of-the-art construction techniques. His dedication, foresight and enthusiasm have propelled the company to national prominence. Under his leadership, the company has completed over 700 bridges, including large extra-dosed and cable-stayed bridges and is currently leading in the execution of cable-supported bridges in India.
Shri Singla is also actively engaged in social welfare activities and serves as a trustee for various social and religious organizations. On the personal front, he is supported by his wife, Shreematee Prem Lata and his two sons, Sh. Deepak Singla and Sh. Rohit Singla, who are actively involved in the family business.

**About Prof. Mahesh Tandon, Chairman, Tandon Consultants Pvt. Ltd.**
Prof. Mahesh Tandon, Chairman of Tandon Consultants Pvt. Ltd., is a renowned international expert in Structural Engineering, recognized for his innovative and aesthetically advanced designs. His work is acclaimed for creativity, futurism, environmental sensitivity, and innovation both in India and globally.
Prof. Tandon earned his BE in Civil Engineering from the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) in 1962 and his MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawaii, USA, in 1965. He has been a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers since 1968 and was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Roorkee in 2018. He is accredited as an International Professional Engineer (India) for 2018-2028 and has been a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) since 1998.
Prof. Tandon is a pioneer in developing new codes of practice and bridge technologies tailored to Indian conditions, including Segmental Construction, Integral Construction, Accelerated Bridge Construction, Long Span Bridges, and Structures for Metro Systems, encompassing both viaducts and underground sections, as well as long span roofs.
As President of the Indian Society for Wind Engineering, he has designed numerous tall and wind-sensitive structures both in India and abroad. His expertise also extends to the effects of Earthquake and Wind on structures. He has served as Chairman of the National Information Center for Earthquake Engineering (NICEE) at IIT Kanpur, President of the Indian Concrete Institute, and the Institution of Structural Engineers (IAStructE).
He has received numerous accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Concrete Institute in 2008, the IRC Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Roads Congress in 2022, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Institute of Bridge Engineers in 2024. He is also serves as Chairman of the Research Council at CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) for 2023-2025, having previously chaired the Research Council at CSIR-Central Buildings Research Institute (CBRI)
