New Product Launch

With The Launch Of The New 14T Variants, Kobelco Completes Its Generation 10 Line-Up In India

Recently, KOBELCO Construction Equipment India (KCEI) formally launched its new variants in the 14T range of Hydraulic Excavators at a hi-tech event at its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Sri City, in A.P., very close to Chennai. The function coincided with the company’s annual Dealer Meet on 28-29th October, 2021.

Kobelco, with its long history of over 90 years in the construction equipment industry, has been a leading force with close adoption of innovative technologies over the years to be able to offer effective solutions to the end-users for their challenging tasks. The company has always placed its customers at the center of their efforts to build the best products for them.

The global launch of the Generation-10 series a few years ago set new benchmarks for the industry in terms of productivity and durability. KCEI had progressively introduced the Generation 10 series in its models in the 20-24T, 35-38T and 50-52T segments in the recent past. This has added tremendous value to the customers benefit and improved their operational returns even further.

KCEI with its strong presence all over India as well as in some neighboring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan has made a niche for itself with the best offering for the discerning customers with the added feature of compliance to international regulations on emission as well as safety. In fact, KCEI offered these machines even when most of the players opted to continue with their previous models based on older technologies, possibly to cash in on the cost advantage.

The company has now launched two variants of the 14T excavator – the SK140-10 and the SK145XDLC-10, with many common features and benefits like a XD boom/arm, a fuel-efficient ECO-mode of engine operation, international quality cab with high pressure and sound suppression for greater comfort, lighter hydraulic controls suitable for long hours of operation with minimum fatigue, improved hydraulic filters, etc. Primarily, the SK140-10 is having all the basic features of Generation 10 fitted with a bucket of 0.6 cum capacity, while the SK145XDLC-10 is the higher-end variant with additional standard features like a larger 0.7 cum bucket, a longer track chain, an automatic air conditioner, a pre-cleaner for the air intake system, a reinforced guide frame, a lower frame underside cover, etc. Some of these features are also offered as optional for the SK140-10.

These two new variants are aimed at further strengthening the leadership position that the earlier model occupied, while providing customers with a choice to match their specific requirements - another example of meeting customer expectations and preferences.

To top it all, Kobelco’s exceptional support to the machines, wherever they may be operating, is the long-term ‘silver lining’ for owners so that they can get the best from their excavators in terms of uptime, productivity and reliability and of course, show their care and concern for the environment in which they work, like a responsible user.
