L&T Construction Awarded Significant Order By National High Speed Rail Corporation

The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro has secured an order from the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL), to design and construct Package No. - MAHSR-C-5 of the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project, the first High Speed Rail corridor being implemented in the country.

The major scope of work for the project comprises design & construction of Civil and Building works for a double line high speed railway of a length of 8.198 km.

The scope also includes the major station of Vadodara, Confirmation Car Base, Viaduct and Bridges, Crossing Bridges, Architectural, MEP and other associated works. The project alignment passes through Vadodara, Gujarat and the project is scheduled to be completed within 49 months.


Adani Group Signs MoU With South Korean Steelmaker To Set Up An Integrated Steel Mil

Adani Group will be joining hands with the Korean steel company, Posco to develop and establish an integrated steel mill in Mundra, Gujarat with a planned investment of $5 billion (approx. ₹37,000 crore). “We are very pleased to announce the partnership with POSCO, the world’s most efficient and advanced steel manufacturer, in steel production and carbon reduction,” said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group.

“POSCO and Adani intend to utilize renewable energy resources and green hydrogen, in line with both partners’ ESG commitments to sustainability and energy efficiency,” the company’s statement said.

“This cooperation will be a good and sustainable business cooperation model between India and South Korea,” said Jeong-woo, Choi, the CEO of Posco.


Investments Worth ₹91,000 Cr Expected For
Airports Development: Govt.

Investments worth ₹91,000 crore will be made for developing existing and new airports in different parts of the country, as several measures are being taken to boost the civil aviation sector, the government issued a statement. The government has accorded in-principle approval for setting up 21 Greenfield airports and 8 of them, including Pakyong (Sikkim), Kannur (Kerala), Orvakal (Andhra Pradesh), Kalaburagi (Karnataka) and Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh), are now operational.

In written replies to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh said “Airports Authority of India (AAI) has taken up a development programme to spend around ₹25,000 crore in the next 4 to 5 years for expansion and modification of existing terminals, new terminals and strengthening of runways, among other activities.”

Three Public-Private Partnership (PPP) airports at Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru have undertaken major expansion plan of ₹30,000 crore by 2025. “Additionally, ₹36,000 crore has been planned for investment in the development of new greenfield airports across the country under PPP mode,” Singh added.


Shree Cement To Set Up ₹1500 Crore Cement Plant

Recently, a delegation of officials from Shree Cement met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and held discussions for setting up a Greenfield Cement plant in Guntur district at an estimated cost of ₹1,500 crore.

During the meeting with the company officials, the Chief Minister discussed how Andhra Pradesh is the best destination for investments and also the incentives being given to Industries sector in the state, an official release said.

Shree Cement will be setting up its first plant in Andhra Pradesh and the plan is prepared to complete the project in 24 months. Speaking on the occasion, Shree Cement managing Director H M Bangur said the CM has been working wholeheartedly to improve the position of the state.
