Gatishakti National Master Plan Launched To Accelerate Infrastructure Projects, Reduce Costs
To speed up implementation of infrastructure projects worth ₹ 100 lakh crore across the country at both the Central and State levels and bring down logistics cost, Prime Minister launched the ‘PM GatiShakti - National Master Plan’ for multi-modal connectivity to economic zones with ambitious goals in the areas of road, railways, aviation, clean energy and digital connectivity.
“We are laying a foundation for the next 25 years. This national master plan will give ‘gatishakti’ to development plans of the 21st century and will help in the timely completion of these plans,” Modi said, officially unveiling the GatiShakti National Master Plan.
The plan will incorporate projects under existing flagship schemes under different Ministries including Bharatmala, Sagarmala, Bharat Net, Udaan and expansion of road and railway networks and inland waterways.
Centre Nods ₹ 74,485 Cr For Development Projects In Northeast India
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Central government has sanctioned ₹ 74,485 crore for development projects in the North East so far.
In the Lok Sabha during the question hour; on survey and investigation status of various projects, including Bhalukpong-Tawang, being carried out by the railways in Arunachal Pradesh, Union Railway Minister Vaishnaw said: “The projects are very important as it has strategic importance because it connects the border areas. Working is going on pace.” It was in response to BJP MP from Arunachal East Tapir Gao’s query.
Vaishnaw said, “So far 51.4km railway line has been approved in the state of Mizoram which will connect Bairabi to Sairang.”It will connect the capital of Aizwal to the rest of the country with railway network. The project is worth 6,547 crore.”
In Arunachal Pradesh, the work on Greenfield Airport at Hollongi, near state capital Itanagar, is going on war footing and it will be completed by August 2022, the Minister said.
