In Next 4 Years, India’s National Highways Network To Expand To 2 Lakh Kms

India plans to add around one lakh kms of road network to expand the national highways network in the country to around 2 lakh kms by the next four years. The PM Gati Shakti project with a cost of ₹ 100 lakh crore, aims to set up a multi-nodal connectivity to various economic zones.

The PM Gati Shakti plan aims to add more than 5,500 kms of four- and six-lane highways across the coastal belt of the nation. The plan also aims to link all capital cities in the seven states of the North East region with either four-lane national highways, or two alternate alignments of two-lane highways each.

As per MoRTH, India managed to add 1,470 kms of national highways between April and May this year.


NH Projects Inaugurated In Nashik Worth Over ₹ 1600 Cr

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari virtually laid foundation stone and inaugurated National Highway projects of approx. 206 km long and worth around ₹ 1,678 crore in Nashik.

Foundation Stones Laid for the following NH Projects:

• Four Grade Separated Structures at Kalyan/ Bapgaon, Vasind, Asangaon and Kasara/ Washala Junction on NH-3 of 3 Km length, worth ₹ 84 crore
• Flyover at Ghoti-Sinnar Junction on NH-3’s Vadape-Gonde section of 1.6 Km length, worth ₹ 44 crore
• VUP at Purmepada on Dhule-Pimplegaon section of NH-3 of 1.2 Km length, worth ₹ 27 crore
• VUP at Khadavali Junction on Vadape-Gonde section of NH-3 of 0.70 Km length, worth ₹ 24 crore
• Upgradation of Nandgaon-Manmad section of NH-753J of 21 Km length, worth ₹ 211 crore
• VUP @ Ch. 185/500 on Sinnar-Nashik Road NH-60 of 0.8 Km length, worth ₹ 25 crore
