New Cloverleaf Intersection, One of the Largest Such Constructions in India to be Inaugurated Soon

Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, will soon launch the Cloverleaf intersection which will connect NH-48, the Southern Peripheral Road and the Dwarka Expressway.

Union minister and Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjeet Singh stated that the cloverleaf is nearing completion after meeting Gadkari and discussing numerous projects related to the NCR area.

The cloverleaf has a circle of almost 2 km, including ramps on all four sides, according to the National Highways Authority of India. It is claimed to be a bigger version of the cloverleaf in Dhaula Kuan in New Delhi and is one of India's largest such constructions.

“Its construction is almost complete and it is expected to open to the public in coming weeks,” the Gurgaon MP said, adding that Union minister Gadkari will inaugurate the cloverleaf and inspect the Dwarka Expressway work.


Centre Considers Constructing 37 Strategic Roads Along China Border Worth ₹13,000 Cr

The government is considering on a proposal to construct an additional 37 roads spanning a total distance of 875 km along the India-China border, a report in a leading daily states. The proposed project, part of the India-China Border Roads (ICBR) programme, would cost approximately ₹13,000 crore.

According to the proposal, nearly 70% of the roads under ICBR-III would be built in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The ongoing phases of the ICBR programme, namely ICBR-I and ICBR-II, involve the development of 1,435 km of roads in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. The estimated cost of the project is around ₹1,600 crore. The ICBR project aims to enhance infrastructure along the border between the two nations by constructing strategic roads, bridges and tunnels.


NHAI Targets 2025 to Develop 10,000 Km of Digital Highways

State-owned NHAI is working towards development of around 10,000 km of Optic Fibre Cables (OFC) infrastructure across the country by FY2024-25, according to an official statement. The statement said National Highways Logistics Management Limited will implement the network of “digital highways” by developing integrated utility corridors along the national highways to develop OFC infrastructure.

According to the statement, around 1,367 km on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and 512 km on the Hyderabad-Bangalore corridor have been identified as pilot routes for the digital highway development.

The recently-inaugurated 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway features a three-metre dedicated utility corridor used to lay optical fibre cables, which will serve as the backbone for the roll-out of the 5G network in the region.


10,000 Cr Shimla-Mathaur National Highway Project Initiated

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the NHAI has agreed in principle for four-laning of road from Shimla to Matour and Pathankot to Mandi. While the road project from Shimla to Matour will cost `10,000 crore, the one from Pathankot to Mandi will cost `12,000 crores, he stated.

The CM said strengthening road connectivity in the state was the government’s priority and the NHAI should speed up the work on four-lane road projects being executed in Himachal Pradesh.

He said the state government has decided to develop Kangra as a tourism capital and four laning of these two projects will prove beneficial from the point of tourism. The detailed project reports of the Pathankot-Mandi four-laning road project should be prepared soon, except for the portion of the road of around 19 km adjoining Mandi town, he said
